Hey, Coach Larry here from Body Basics Fitness in Warren, NJ.   I'm currently looking to help 12 people participate in a nutrition focused (with supplemental-exercise) weight-loss program.

 

My 30-Day Program has helped many busy men and women that don't have a lot of free time, lose fat weight and get back into their skinny jeans and clothes that "used to" fit.

Whether you're a young mom looking after babies or a mom raising teenagers, working full or part-time, running a household with grocery shopping, cleaning, shuffling kids around after-school and more! Look, it's easier for guys because having a bit of gut seems to be acceptable. Well, if you're okay with having your stomach hang over your belt buckle, that's cool, but I can tell you straight out that this program is not for you. You can't out-train a bad diet.

When it comes to eating healthy, it's really difficult because mom's are often cooking meals based on what their kids will eat. If you're a mom reading this, I know you really try to make this work, and I get it. Kids can be picky eaters, and who wants to cook two different dinners? So moms often cook what their kids will eat and then moms and dads end up eating the same meals like spaghetti, mac and cheese, pizza, etc., (or take out), and before you know it their skinny jeans don't fit!

And what about you single guys and gals? It seems more and more young professionals are eating out at diners, sports bars, and take out. What a great way to pack on the pounds! Doesn't anyone cook anymore?

80% of your weight loss results come from your nutrition.

The bottom line is that moms put everyone else first and sacrifice themselves for the benefit of their families, and dads do their best, but there's so much bad, wrong, and "myth"-information out there about how to lose weight and keep it off. It's confusing as to what to do to lose weight, and it's even more confusing about how to keep the weight off.

And you know what? In the blink of an eye, busy young moms and dads become middle-aged moms and dads and the story is the same. They continue to put their kids, families, and careers first and take care of themselves last. Only now their hormones start to change and losing weight is even more difficult!

A flat stomach is built in the kitchen, not the gym.

If you are ten to 50 pounds over-fat, there are a number of reasons that are causing it. The most obvious reason could be that you have a sedentary lifestyle and that you are taking in more calories than you are burning for energy.  Over time, the pounds add up. It only takes one-to-two pounds a year for twenty years and you're carrying a spare tire on your hips.  Maybe you had a baby and never quite lost your baby fat. Maybe you have a thyroid issue and don't even know it. What ever the reason, it's time to take back control of your weight.

 YOUR METABOLISM IS KING

So what exactly is metabolism? Your metabolism includes all the things your body does to turn food into energy and keep you going. Some people have a faster metabolism than others. To keep things simple, lets define metabolism as "the speed at which your body burns through food." Therefore, the faster your body burns through (processes) the meals you ingest, the higher your metabolism. The faster your metabolism, the more energy you use and the less fat you store.

Metabolism is a lot like a campfire

It takes some work to get a good campfire going (you exercise hard to ramp your metabolism).  But once it’s aflame, how do you keep it going?  You add small sticks and branches, little by little (you eat smaller meals throughout the day).  What happens when you drop a huge log on top of a good fire (you ate a huge meal)?  You smother the fire (you just put the brakes on your metabolism).

When you're over fat from taking more calories than your body can use for energy (burn), your metabolism is like a small campfire (A). It's burning, but it's not hot enough, so your body's metabolism is slow and you gain weight much easier, especially when you eat a big meal. That's like putting a big log on a small campfire.

The average person has a slightly higher metabolism (B) where the fire is hotter, but it's still not hot enough, and so the body is slightly over-fat. In example (C) the campfire is raging hot to the point where it can handle big logs and easily burn through them. This person exercises and takes in the right amount of food so that they achieve and maintain a lean muscular body.

Muscle is a key component of a healthy metabolism because muscle is the physical place where fat is burned in the body.

Muscle cells need a lot of energy, which means they burn a lot of calories. In fact, they burn more calories than fat cells, even when you're not exercising. So the time you spend working out reaps benefits long after you stop sweating.

Exercise becomes even more important as you get older. You naturally lose muscle mass with age, which slows down your metabolism. Working out can stop that slide.

You need to challenge your muscles often in these 3 ways:

1. Crank up your workout. Whether you're running or taking a Zumba class, make it more intense, and your body will burn more calories.

2. Add intervals. You can do them with any type of cardio. The basic idea is to switch back and forth between higher and lower intensity. You make it really challenging, and then back down your pace, and repeat.

3. Lift weights. Because muscle uses more calories than fat, strengthening your muscles will make you into a more efficient calorie-burning machine, even when you're at rest.  You'll be doing more than just helping your metabolism. Your heart, bones, and even your mood will benefit.  It's a win all around.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can anyone do this? Absolutely! This program is more about mindset than it is physical ability. If you're fed up with feeling sluggish with periods of low energy, frustrated with the way your clothes no longer fit, and fear stepping on the bathroom scale, this program is for you. The more frustrated you are with your current state of health and physical condition the better you'll do.

But Larry, I don't live anywhere near Warren, NJ. Can I still do your program? YES!!! The awesome news is that you can live anywhere and do this program!  The Gold and Silver Medalist programs are both done ONLINE. You and I will communicate via telephone, Apple FaceTime, text, social media, and email.

What if I am unable to train at all, can I still do the program? Absolutely! Even if all that you can do is participate in the GOLD nutrition program, you will still lose weight and gain valuable health benefits. If working out isn't possible for you, you can and still will lose weight. It will just come off a little more slowly. For people who physically can't train, a daily walking program is highly recommended.

What does it cost?  There are three levels that you can join. The Gold Level is the foundation and costs the same in each level. The price increases as more services and value are offered with each level. I've designed this program so that it's affordable and you can jump in and get started at a level that fits your budget. Once I receive your online application, I'll call you and I'll go over the program details including costs. We'll need about 15 minutes of time for the call.
